If you wish to delete your HeyWhoo account and all associated data, we're here to help. Please read the information below carefully before proceeding.

⚠️ Important: This Action Cannot Be Undone

Deleting your account is permanent. Once deleted, you will lose access to:

Your profile and account information
All match history and chat records
Earned tokens and rewards
Ranking and leaderboard positions
Guess statistics and win/loss records
Messages and conversations with all matches

What Information Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days:

Personal Information: Name, email, password, profile photo
Account Data: Login credentials, preferences, settings
Game Data: Match history, guess records, win/loss statistics
Messages: All chat conversations with matches
Tokens: All earned and daily tokens
Rankings: Leaderboard positions and achievements
Social Data: Connections and interactions with other players

Information We May Retain

For legal and business purposes, we may retain some information:

Transaction Records: Purchase history for legal compliance (if applicable)
Legal Requirements: Data required by law or for ongoing legal matters
Security Logs: Technical logs for fraud prevention and security
Anonymized Analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics

This retained information is kept secure and will not be used for any other purposes.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

Coming Soon: We're working on adding an in-app account deletion feature. Once available, you'll be able to delete your account directly from the app settings.

To delete your account, please send an email request following these steps:

Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Include in your email:
• Your full name
• Email address associated with your account
• Reason for deletion (optional but appreciated)
• Confirmation statement: "I understand this action is permanent and irreversible"
Verification: We may ask for additional verification to confirm account ownership and prevent unauthorized deletions
Processing: Your account will be deleted within 30 days. You'll receive a confirmation email once completed

How long does the deletion process take?

Once we verify your identity, your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Can I recover my account after deletion?

No, account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently removed from our systems.

What happens to my tokens?

All tokens (daily, earned, and total) will be deleted along with your account and cannot be recovered or transferred.

Will my chat partners see our messages?

Your chat messages will be anonymized and removed from the system. Other users will not be able to view conversations with you.

What happens to my leaderboard rankings?

Your position on all leaderboards (Top Detectives, Most Fooled, Master Deceivers) will be removed.

Can I just deactivate my account instead?

Currently, we only offer permanent deletion. If you'd like a temporary deactivation feature, please let us know in your deletion request email.

Will I still receive emails after deletion?

No, once your account is deleted, you will be removed from all email lists and will not receive any further communications from HeyWhoo.
